Gary's Mother: Judith Soriao

This is Judith Soriao's first independent film production. A revelation during the casting call (a few minutes after being so nervous during her audition), her acting background was honed way back her college days in a theater group at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.




Gary’s Father: Dante Balois

Dante Balois is one of the earliest members of the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA). With an acting career spanning more than 30 years, he appeared in a number of films in support roles, particularly in Lino Brocka’s "Tinimbang Ka Ngunit Kulang" and “Orapronobis” and Marilou Diaz Abaya’s "Bagong Buwan.” He also acted for Cinemalaya’s “Baby Angelo.”


Dante and Rianne met up in a PETA play entitled "Tata Selo."

Gary’s Sister: Jocel Vergel de Dios

A familiar face seen on many TV commercials and TV productions, Jocel Vergel de Dios is also starting to make a name in the film scene. She also acted in the 2006 film “Pamahiin.”



Boss: Dido dela Paz

Dido dela Paz is a veteran film, theater, and TV actor. His renowned mainstream and independent film credits include “Magnifico,” “Mano Po,” “Kristo,” “Sa Ilalim ng Cogon,” “Ebolusyon ng Isang Pamilyang Pilipino,” “Altar,” “Astigmatism,” “Sukob,” “Sisa,” “Eskapo,” and Hesus Rebolusyonaryo.”







Boss’ Wife: Marnie Lapus

Marnie Lapus is a favorite talent in TV commercials and “teleseryes.” As a character actress, she starred in mainstream films including “D’ Anothers” and awarded independent short films “Luna” and “Mansyon.” She was also part of the TV series “Encantadia.”


Marnie has collaborated with Rianne for various productions before, but this is the first time that she acted for her film.






Pansit Vendor: Via Antonio

Via Antonio is a theater artist and dancer from Dulaang UP. She performed for the “1st International Komedya Fiesta” of the University of the Philippines Centennial Celebration through “Orosman and Zafira” and she was part of the 2009 theater release of "Zsazsa Zaturnnah Ze Muzikal." She also starred in the independent film “Now Showing.”











Beggar Boy and Mom: Henrex Aldueso and Loida Petalo

Henrex Aldueso’s first production was for a public service ad for children. “Pera-perahang Lata” is his first film.

Loida Petalo appeared in many character roles for various productions including “Darna,” “Calla Lily,” “Maala-ala Mo Kaya,” and “Kabalikat.”



Woman in Jeep: Ellen Estrada

Ellen Estrada is a member of the Actors Workshop Foundation. As a character actress, she appeared in a number of soap operas, TV commercials, and films. She also played the role of the Spanish era/ancestral mother for Rianne’s first film “Karsel.”

She was the writer of “Emergency,” the first segment of Regal Film’s Metro Manila Film Festival 2008 entry “Shake, Rattle, and Roll X.”





Snatcher: Rey Solo

Rey Solo is a veteran actor, stuntman, and fight director. His local and international film credits include “M.O.N.A.Y. ni Mr. Shooli,” “Dugo ng Panday,” “Squala,” “Shake, Rattle and Roll IV,” “Killer vs. Ninjas,” “Buddy en Sol (Sine Ito),” “Bullet,” “Bobby Barbers, Parak,” “Hostage,” “Magic Kombat,” “Cobra Nero 2,” and “The Boy in the Golden Kimono.”







Man 1 and Man 2: Ces Aldaba and Karl Moro

Ces Aldaba and Rianne met while working in a Fil-Am indie production. Ces was one of the actors in major role while Rianne was the Assistant Director. He is a familiar face in TV and film. Apart from starring in a number of TV commercials and soap operas, he also acted in films “My Big Love,” 'Wag Kang Lilingon,” “Ang Pamana,” and “Baliw.”

Comedian Karl Moro shared credits on GMA 7’s TV comedy show “Bubblegang.” He also starred in the independent film “Baliw.” He is Rianne's top pick for the Man #2 role during the auditions.


Student in Jeep and Drunk Maniac in Jeep: Ed Jaluag and Rommel Buenaventura

Ed Jaluag and Rianne met at Tuldok Animation Studios where they are both members. Ed also worked as an artist for the indie animated short (also funded by the NCCA through the proponent Ramon del Prado, also Rianne's friend and one of the storyboard artists for "Pera-perahang Lata") where Rianne also worked for Tuldok's AVP and BTS video.

Rommel Buenaventura made a number of independent productions mostly for the University of the Philippines Film Institute and Mowelfund. He is also one of the founders of the Pi Omicron Independent Film Festival at the University of the Philippines.

Rommel Buenaventura is Rianne's batchmate at PETA when they opened their application way back 2000/2001.

The voices behind the characters Nilo’s mom and little sister: Gigi Pirote and Noemi Oineza

Gigi also played the mom character for Rianne’s first film “Karsel.” They met up in a play of PETA (Tata Selo).
Noemi Oineza is a promising child actress building a very good acting portfolio at a very young age. She is a mainstay of the ABS-CBN children’s gag show “Going Bulilit.” She also starred in a major role at the network’s “teleserye” version of “Princess Sarah” and does voice talent works for TV commercials and corporate productions.

Noemi is a talented little girl Rianne met from another audition around 2 months before shooting the film. Her sister Jane is also part of ABS-CBN's "Going Bulilit," "Prinsesa ng Banyera" and "Kung Fu Kids."
